High School Camp

Our annual high school camp took place at YFC again this year from 25-27 January.Although I always look forward to camp, knowing it sets the tone for the year, I was not prepared for the awesome work that God was about to do.

Every year we come back from camp talking about how amazed we are by God and what He does. It is hard to adequately capture in words what the Holy Spirit does on our camps, but it’s always new and fresh. God shows up and surprises us every single year. It is an honour and a humbling experience to watch teenagers sold out for Jesus, to see them in worship give their all to Him and His purposes, to pray for and encourage each other. This year focused on our identity in Christ. Knowing that we are sons and daughters of the Most High, no longer slaves to the lies that we have believed about ourselves. Many were set free from these lies and many made first time decisions to accept Jesus ad their Lord and Saviour. A special word of thanks to Johan and Marlise Meyer who shared their stories with us and through their vulnerability, enabled us to be open and vulnerable too. I don’t know about everyone else, but camp definitely gave me the fuel I needed to get this year started and when I look at the awesome learners at The King’s School Linbro Park, I am excited by what an incredible bunch of human beings they are. Passionate people who are going to change this world!
